Heading for 2030: Federal Belgium revamps its climate plan to meet its commitments
JUL 2025
Belgium is aiming to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 47% by 2030. The federal government has approved its final contribution to the National Energy-Climate Plan (PNEC), defining the levers for the climate transition. The plan includes tax measures, support for renewable energies and energy efficiency, particularly for businesses. Expected by the EU since 2024, this plan will enable the integrated national document to be finalised. If it is delayed, Belgium will have to step up its efforts or buy emission allowances.
