OCEAN PRESERVATION

february 2019

High-Level Conference on Climate Change and Ocean Conservation, organized in Brussels on 19 February 2019 by Belgian Ministers Marie Christine Marghem, in charge of Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development and Philippe De Backer, in charge of the North Sea: «Climate Change and Ocean Preservation»

“The impact of climate change on oceans and the marine environment is a major challenge. Researchers are sounding the alarm. Even with the strictest emission reductions, sea levels will rise dramatically, disrupting life on land and in the seas. To address what is probably the biggest challenge of this century, Belgium organised the international conference on climate change and ocean conservation in Brussels on Tuesday 19 February 2019. This conference not only took stock of current problems but also gave countries, sectors and organisations, the opportunity to sign the Brussels Declaration and thus reaffirm their commitment to future generations”.

Altapika participated in the development of the conference and had the opportunity to exchange experiences with foreign delegations.
